Worth it?

30 bucks is reasonable, and the winner gets the PokerStars WSOP package(10K buy in, plus a week of hotel, and $1000). It is a re-buy in tourney however.

Is it worth it? I am seriously thinking about giving it a try, and someone with some T$(coughcoughDoubleBhackcough) might seriously do well in something like this.....hell...anyone reading this right now could do fine.

Is it reasonable to think you could win this thing without doing a rebuy?

Though possible to win this without a rebuy, it is not a good idea. By thinking you only want to invest $30 into the tourny you are going to be playing much more scared than a lot of the other people who will be rebuying even before the first hand. Also you can almost expect to get busted in a rebuy tourny a few times in the first hour, as people will be going all in A LOT trying to get a big stack. I was all in with AA vs 5 people and lost most of my stack in a rebuy. Not much I could do but rebuy. You'd be surprised how many people will be willing to invest hundreds of dollars in rebuys in such a tourny. You'd probably have a much better chance of winning by playing a $3 or $5 rebuy event and be willing to rebuy like 6 times instead of playing this one with no rebuy. I'd say you need at least $120 to have an average shot at winning this tourny: $30 buy in, plus $30 rebuy to start, plus one rebuy in first hour plus $30 add on. Allocating anything less and you are practically giving away your money.
