So I've never played craps before in my life, but I hear it has one of the highest pay offs with one of the lowest house edge percentages. I'm going to Vegas in a few weeks and wonder if someone has tips/guides on doing well.

I know that betting on the Pass Line and also, (I believe) the 6 & 8 will give the House the smallest odds in the entire casino: 1.5%. Just betting on those should be more than enough for most people. Unless you really want to live life dangerously, avoid the bets in the center. They can have a house advantage of over 16%. The dealer will call out things to try and get people to play on them, but I'd advise against it.

Always remember to take your chips as soon as you get them. If they are on the table, tough cookies, they will be played again, so make sure you don't take too long picking up any that you don't want to bet.

When you throw the die, make sure they don't slide on the table or it's called a "no Roll." A couple of those and your butt will be told to leave as it's a way to control the dice.

Other than that, it's pretty easy, despite how it might look. Dealers will help you with it and you'll be able to pick it up just by watching for awhile. Everyone will be screaming for the same thing as you anyway. That's the real appeal of Craps is that it's a group event and you have fun even if you aren't the one tossing.
