1. Emerson and Thoreau.
2. The Eighties, outside of a few bands, sucked shit hard. New wave was total crap and the cool shit in rap really started happening in the nineties.
I'm going to have the say the Sixties. There was so much cool stuff- the Monkees, Turtles, Beatles, Dylan, the Band, Hendrix, Buffalo Springfield, CCR, the Allmans...Jefferson Airplane, the Stones...so much garage stuff, so much cool psychedlica...Cream...
I think, hands down, you can't beat the sixties for just quality music.
