Re: The List
Movie they should remake - None. Goddamnit.
Movie they should not remake - Any movie that has already been made. You don't see artists re-painting portraits or resculpting statues do you? Maybe I should rewrite Great Expectations sometime? Unless a serious reinterpretation is feasible for a movie, there is no reason to make it again.
TV show that should be made into a movie film - Samurai Pizza Cats, clearly.
TV show that should be made into a HBO/Showtime type mini series - Um. Not sure.
TV show that should never be made into a movie - Anything that relies on a serial format and knowing characters and their histories. I'm thinking continuity-heavy shows like Six Feet Under or Arrested Development. Some stories are just made for TV.
Book that should be made into a movie - "Vurt" by Jeff Noon. It'd be trippy as fuck.
Book that should be made into a HBO/Showtime type mini series - A few more Discworld books could stand to get the same treatment as "Hogfather" did last Christmas (they made a two-part TV movie thing which I guess is the equivelant of a mini series in the USA).
Book that should never be made into a movie - I'll agree with Kermit with the Wheel of Time along with any other fantasy series that goes on for volume after volume after volume. The Lord of the Rings was barely feasible as a trilogy of long movies, but even the Extended Editions needed detail removed and areas simplifying. I can only imagine what a mess Hollywood would make of much longer series like The Wheel of Time or A Song of Ice and Fire.
