Too much time on my hands

 The metallic sliver cut through the night air like a bullet as it sped towards its destination. Clouds in the sky masked the moon, assisting in covering the normally picturesque European countryside with a blanket of darkness. Even if the moonlight had broken its barrier, the subsequent result would not have interested the man sitting alone in a dark passenger car travelling from Madrid to Paris. His eyes may have been gazing out the window at the landscape, but his mind was elsewhere. Like the scenery beyond the pane of glass, life seemed to be rushing by PD at a rapid pace.
The term "mind games" wouldn't do justice in regards to what he'd experienced with Shadow over the past few weeks. Hell, "psychological warfare" would have been painting with too kind a brush. Words like cruel, evil, and criminal were more appropriate for the disgusting acts perpetrated by the S-Mart C.E.O. Cameron had always known there would be repercussions for double-crossing Infinity, but never in his wildest nightmares did he envision such horrors.
A parent never wants to outlive his or her child. PD lowered his head and buried his face into his rough palms. The thought alone was too much to bear. His wife had also perished in the same foul twist of fate...or at least so he'd been led to believe until that fateful moment with Shadow when the two of them confronted who he believed to be the murderer of his family. And then to see her once angelic face so full of contempt at Retribution, it almost seemed as though the woman he loved was no longer the same person; dead to him in a different way than of a mortal nature.
His match may have resulted in a double disqualification, but the outcome meant nothing to him. The only thing he gave a damn about was sinking his knuckles into Shadow's flesh and he'd succeeded. For that matter, Cameron wanted every member of Infinity to feel the same pain rattling around in his gut at this very moment. His waking hours were encompassed by the dense fog of anger. What little sleep he got was laced with the nightmares of his reality. And yet, by some remarkable stroke of luck he'd been rewarded with an opportunity to square off against Highone and David Hardy, the infamous RoXoRz, in a tag-team match. They were crown jewels in the treasure chest of Infinity and he relished the opportunity to inflict damage.
PD's partner in the match wasn't relevant. As long as said individual stayed out of his way, the two of them would get along just fine. No person would slow him down as he worked his way through Infinity and back to his wife's once-loving arms. There had never been a problem the two of them couldn't work through. He just had to get close enough to talk to her. And how could Jones fault her for casting blame in his direction? There wasn't a day that went by where he didn't blame himself a thousand times over. Plausible D shifted in his seat.
Infinity would burn in the flames of his hatred, and he would dance around the ashen remains of the faction he'd once considered his allies. Every second he thought about the beating he intended to put on Highone and Hardy made him feel alive. PD was willing to give up his life in order to avenge his family's honor...
...and that was just how Stan DeVille liked it.

An S-Mart Gulfstream lowered its wheels as the luxury jet finalized its approach to land at Charles DeGalle Airport. Somewhere a few hours behind it, thousands of feet below, the Eurarail had roared down a track heading towards the same destination...Paris, France. They were certainly modes of transportation for two VERY different tax brackets. On board the private plane, members of Infinity and a handful of travelling companions lounged on leather couches sipping Moet and enjoying life. There was only one new face, though it seemed to be a familiar one for some reason; a young woman with a blank expression accompanying Shadow. Retribution had been kind to the seemingly unstoppable group of federation superstars. They seemed to be on a fast-track to uncharted territory.
Titanium Insomniac found himself in a position to possibly win the Bleeder Title, a strap he'd never laid claim to before. Hammer had done something remarkable by beating the current TCW World Champion in a non-title match, which almost seemed to assure him another opportunity to get his hands on the shiniest belt of them all. DeSean and Shadow were the tag-team champions and had their first opportunity to defend the honor at Friction. Highone had successfully retained his IC/TC Championship at Retribution. In the coming months, as unbelievable as it sounded, Infinity could potentially possess every single TCW championship outside of the AfterShock title, something they were unable to compete for as is. Of course, that wasn't every member of the group...
Hardy seemed to show little outward interest in championships at the moment, as the only prize on his mind was the curve-a-licious female, Leela, who'd been accompanying him for the last few shows. Highone looked across the cabin at the two of them, curled up together on a row of seats, sleeping in the comfort of each others' arms. It was nice to see David happy for once. The normally vain superstar did not even seem to skip a beat at his newfound baldness. The captain of cool was sporting an afro-wig at the moment, showing he hadn't lost his trademark sense of humor. Leela seemed to be bringing the best out of him, lightening the normally heavy-hearted RoXoR's mood and corralling his womanizing ways.
The plane touched down and eventually came to a stop. The exit opened, allowing the passengers to collect their things and head down the stairs onto the tarmac. As the members filed off towards waiting cars they said their farewells and vowed to stay in touch throughout their experiences in Paris. Almost instinctively, Highone headed in the same direction as his long time friend and tag-team partner. The two had always travelled together before so it made sense they'd do the same since the dynamic duo was paired up once again for the upcoming show. The IC/TC champ picked up the pace and caught up with David.
Highone: Hardz-a-rino!
Hardy: Hey man, seems like forever since we talked...
Highone: Yeah, this schedule has been rough, and hey...I can't blame ya for being occupied with other matters. *wink* Speaking of which, how are you enjoying yourself Leela?
Leela: It's been great. David has...um...told me lots about you, I look forward to us talking more so you can see the kind of person I really am.
Highone: Uh, sure. Sounds good. So the travel schedule hasn't been too stressful? We wrestlers seem to constantly be on the go. It's not easy for people to get used to...
Hardy: Somehow she's acclimated herself to the touring lifestyle REALLY well.
Highone: So where we off to now? Maybe check in, find a few night spots, and do up the City of Lights RoXoR-style?
Hardy: Actually...gosh...I'm not sure how else to say this so I'll just say it. Leela and I were talking about maybe doing some sight-seeing. The Eiffel Tower is supposed to be beautiful at night.
Highone: Sounds kinda tame, but I'm up for anything...
Hardy: Don't take this the wrong way, but I meant JUST the two of us.
Highone: Oh...
Leela: David, why don't you and Highone go out and enjoy the town? It's been awhile since you've both gotten a chance to talk. I'm sure you have lots to catch up on...
Highone: It's okay...hey, the two of you had plans....go for it. Paris is a romantic place. Enjoy your night. We can catch up another time...
Hardy: You sure?
Highone: Yeah, don't sweat it...
Hardy: Cool....talk to you tommorrow then...
David and Leela stepped into the remaining towncar. Highone put his bag down and watched as it sped off into the night, letting out a sigh of disappointment as it faded out of his sight. He grabbed his stuff and headed into the airport, alone, with the expectation of renting a car. It looked like room service and Spank-travision were going to be his company this evening. There were some obvious differences between now and the last time the RoXoRz tagged in a match. Highone only hoped the changes were reserved to the action outside of the ring...
