Prodigious mental abilities as a result of slight psionic potential

Origin: Mandrake was born as Jonah Todtdrachen, the son of second-generation New Amsterdam Jews in 1974. Two of his grandparents had been subjected to experiments by the Third Reich, mutating their DNA and unlocking the potential for transhumanism. Todtdrachen, therefore, is a transhuman, but only a recessive one. His abilities are solely mental in nature, and he was a scientific prodigy. However, his ambition soon outstripped even his impressive abilities. Knowing from an early age that he was special, he grew up with a sense of entitlement and when he failed the entrance exams for MIT, the seed of a dark jealousy began to grow in him. He struck out on his own, developing many inventions for less-than-savoury purposes and it wasn't long until he had become a fully-fledged criminal, using his superior brainpower to commit ever more nefarious crimes. He anglicised his name soon after this, and started calling himself "Professor". He has been jailed several times, but usually manages to get released on appeal thanks to his wealthy benefactors - men who have profited from his inventions, such as billionaire Dale Winters.
Personality: Mandrake has a powerful intellect, but is held back from true greatness by his sense of entitlement. He believes his transhuman status makes him better than his contemporaries - a disturbing through, since it owes its origins to Nazi eugenics - and refuses to accept that normal humans are capable of outstripping him. He has channelled his frustration at the world towards sowing chaos and discord, inventing fiendish machines that enable him to commit relatively petty crimes. Profits from these inventions furnish him with funds to build more, as well as providing him with many wealthy benefactors.
Villain History: Mandrake has invented the following machines:

A powered exo-skeleton

A directed laser weapon

A small wheeled vehicle capable of flight and amphibious locomotion

A machine capable of vaporising metals
