Re: The July boredom thread knows it doesn't need to be this hot
Well, no, I don't really use it... I have this organic peanutbutter that has to be kept in the 'fridge. Problem with that is it becomes very hard to spread, and ripped my bread apart. I thought I could put the container in the microwave for a few seconds and melt it a little, but instead I was greeted by flashes of white and blue and a very smokey smell.
I foolishly unplugged it before gaining superpowers.

I'm glad you explained about the peanut butter's effect on the bread or that story really wouldn't have made any sense.

Re: The July boredom thread knows it doesn't need to be this hot
I know this advice may be a little too late, but my dad used to put a little bit of hot tap water in a pot and put the jar in there for a minute or two, softens everything right up.

That makes sense.
I re-examined the container and apparently it originally had some kind of foil covering under the lid, so I guess that's what nearly gave me x-ray vision.

I'm hopefully setting up my media center tonight. Got the VGA to S-Video adapter in the mail today. Then it's Hulu via remote control.
Also, reading crazy amounts of comic books thanks to my new library card.

Things I am banning from the flat: hair and Christmas. I am tired of hair blocking my hoover, and I am still finding plastic Christmas tree needles and it's fucking July!

Re: The July boredom thread knows it doesn't need to be this hot
I've done well on my wife. She walks in as I have some comics laid out on the floor so I know what I have and what I need to fill in for a wish list. the story was the Unity Saga from Valiant in 1992. Now that I'm older and have money and comics have just dropped in price I've been buying to complete series and stories. Anyway, she looks down at this cover And comments that it is a really cool cover. I say, "I'm not surprised you like it, you know of the artist." and without hesitation she asks if that's Frank Miller. She got it in one. She rules.

Either choice would have been much more enjoyable than what they came up with.
