 Pics from Maine/Acadia National Park This was taken from within Acadia - you can see the coast.  Taken in Acadia as well - you can see the mist coming in over the Atlantic Coast - eerily pretty.  This is also a spot w/in Acadia called Thunder Hole. During the late Autumn/Winter months when the sea is rougher, water rushes into the inlet between the rocks. The sound that is created can only be compared to thunder, thus its name. They say that in the summer months, when the seas are calmer Thunder Hole only "gurggles". LOL  A view from my hotel balcony - again the mist is coming in.  A pond on Mt. Desert Island in Maine.  Highlights from vacation:~passing by Barnicle Bill's in Ogunquit and marking out for Gambit! Whooo! ~Homemade Ice Cream! Moose Tracks - vanilla ice cream with chocloate fudge ribbon swirled thru out and small peanut butter truffles mixed in it! Tell me that doesn't just sound really good? ~Seeing a dolphin off the South tip of Mt. Desert Island!

There is something distinctly lacking in each and every one of those pictures... can't put my finger on it though.... Very nice pictures... no surprise that you've got a photographer's eye.  It looks like a nice place, wish I coulda went someplace for my vacation. =[ Mars

Hell yeah Anna, those pics were great. Reminds me of Iceland a bit.
Thunder Hole in particular looks like this spot where the volcano-heated water is just rushing between the rocks like that. Great pictures!
