Hi everybody.

Let me bring you up to speed on the situation at hand. There's this girl, see. Her name's Catherine. I've known her for about six or so years now, and I've been around during what we'll temporarily call the "larval babe stage" and now for about four years through the "fully blown babe stage" or FBBS.

See, I met this girl in high school and we hung out quite a bit, mostly due to the fact that I thought she was cool. She's still cool. I was thinking about dating her during the high school point in time. However, I never really got around to it. So I go to university for a year, she gets the braces off, has surgery to correct her underbite, and walla... FBBS. Now I'm in a quandry. The thing is that I've always liked this girl, but I'm not sure how to make the transition from "relegated friend status" to "premiership boyfriend status."

The problem is complicated by another few things. My parents simply assume that I'm going to eventually marry this girl, despite the fact that I've never so much as kissed her. Secondly, she's had this string of incredibly lame boyfriends. I know I'm better than these guys but I don't know what she sees in them. One worked at a gas station and played rugby. He never even graduated high school. He's dumb as a post and twice as thick as a whale omelette. The other one is a second lieutenant in the canadian military, and is kind of a sneaky little git. I don't like either of these guys, but I don't know how to circumvent the whole thing.

Further, she's about 200 kliks away in Toronto and she's going to Nottingham for university in a little under two months. All I'm saying is that if there's a chance here for me to date this girl. before she goes to England, then I should probably take it. I have the feeling that I'm boned, though.

If I don't do anything about it now then maybe she goes to England and hooks up with some guy...... I'm looking in your direction, Morg.
