Marky......We all have a lot to learn about this game, even the best player in the world does.
Lesson#1 for ya? Even if you are a good player, No Limit (which is where i assume the 1k starter went) is a tough game to beat over a short period of time. The best players are determined over the VERY long run. Dont dismay, for the evil lord VARIANCE has maybe gotten to you. I recommend having someone stake you around a 20k bankroll to start the play money with, and go from there, playing on the 5/10 tables until you have a minimum 200k roll, then maybe venture to the 100/200 game. And when you see any of the ECF players online, sit down and play. Sure, with one of us (the folks listed in the post above, and yes, Goobs too), its automatically a tough game, but I dont think that we will pick on ya too bad.

I think I know what you mean there. I thought I was being pretty patient, folding when I had crap, only going ahead when I thought I had something. Got caught out twice though by others coming good with straight draws while I had two pairs, one of which being better than what was available on the board (I need to learn the lingo better, I know. top pair is it?) Two hands put paid to pretty much the whole lot.
So tell me more about this bank rolling, do I have to go cap in hand now to someone or something?
