 Toast a good man My Uncle Micheal died last night, after a year-long struggle with lung cancer. I can't say I was as close to him as I would have liked, but it's hard when he lives in Missouri and I live in the DC Suburbs.
I can tell you though without a shadow of a doubt, this was a good man. He was with my aunt Janice for the last ten years and made such a positive influence in her life. She'd been through two bad marriages before she was swept off her feet by Micheal. He has two kids of his own who became very close with Janice. The three of them were at Micheal's side when he dozed off at 9 pm last night, never to wake up again.
This is one of those things in life that shouldn't happen but it does. Now I'm not here to depress the hell out of anyone. Hell I wasn't even going to mention it, but writing is very soothing and you all are very good listeners.
Now like I said, I don't want to depress anyone so I'm gonna keep this short. My opinion on deaths, are that we should celebrate the person's life and not mourn the death. So that's what I'd like. If you're having a drink later, celebrate life. You don't know this guy so I don't expect you to be able to celebrate his... but celebrate your own.
We should all be happy for what we have, and that's our life. It can be taken away from us in an instant. I for one will be using every last second of mine to make sure it counts.
Get outside on this beautiful summer day and live a little...

No ones headed to the pub tonight so I'm staying in.  Might kick back and watch Season 4 of The Simpsons though. Only into the first disc.
