Sorry to hear that. I've lived in that city. (Divorce city, population---you.) I moved out of it a year or so later.

So, who's getting custody?

Or is that too personal?

Also, what about the dog? There's always a dog involved.

And the house...either sell it & split the net 50-50 right away or burn it to the ground in a drunken/sacrificial rage & deny it. Any other option with the house is too damn messy.

1. LC - She could never have you, she knows your mine. It was the only stip of our pre-nup.

2. Custody. Hell. Even if they'd grant me custody, I have no one to care for my kids.
I'm working close to 70/hrs a wk right now as is.

3. The dog and 2 cats go wherever she does. I'm not attached.

4. The house will be put up for sale, monies first used to dissolve all joint debt, then to be distributed 50/50 between us. We'll prolly wind up with about $35,000 each out of that. If it sells around market. Woo hoo.

5. In the meantime, she wants to live together like roommates in this house, until she can get her nursing certificate. (This is after she has told me she wants a divorce for the third time in 3 months) Roommates meaning I foot the bills for everything while she gets educated, continue to do my own laundry and sleep in the guest room as I have been for the past 2 months. What I like about this: I get to see my kids, I'll get to keep the house a little longer. What I don't like about this: Every other fucking facet imaginable from the example it sets for my children, to basically it makes a statement that if she had a job all along, she'd have been out a long time ago. It makes me all warm inside. Flip side is, she won't be able to go anywhere. I am not saying this out of spite, this is the truth. I don't want the kids or her to be in a bad way, but it's real nice to know that I've more or less been a meal ticket until she got her shit together. My first sign should have been her reaction when I lost my job at the end of October.

6. As for personal, hell. I got no one to tell it to. My mom would come down and try to kick her ass, so that's not an option. My one friend in the world in TN has had his couch 'ready' for the past 8 years. He's never liked her. Other than that, this is about my only venue to vent, really. I don't socialize out of work. Everyone I know is at work, and I'm the boss, so, I don't really give out personal tidbits to the staff. So here I am. On the internet divulging the biggest fallacy of my life.

Funny shit really.

Sad part is, I don't feel bad about separating from her. But I've already lost it over how much or little I may or may not see the kids.

You play it off like you got it all out, and everythings cool, but I know what you're going thru. Like up to the minutes basically...

It's a shitty time, and although our sitches vary in alot of ways probably, I know that deep down you got love for the girl. It's a kick in the nuts, and I can only imagine what it must be like to have financial ties as well, that may get messy throughout.

But stay strong mano, and fight the good fight. She's gonna do what she's gonna do, and you have to learn to let go sometimes.

I only wish I could take my own advice.

I've found while running isn't as effective for curing the pain, it's alot safer than drinking/druggin yourself stupid.

And no I don't mean runnin for fitness.
