In an attempt to make the fed more accessible to new members, this thread exists to cover the basics of the 411Fed. It will be updated as necessary, in an attempt to stay current.
This is, essentially, what all new sign-ups are told in PM.
How does feuding work?The basic idea is that you are telling a story with your opponent(s). You are both able to use each others' characters, unlike some other efeds out there. There have been many different styles, but the current common is a first- or third-person account of events, much like any novel you might read.
How are matches done?The matches are written by creative members and volunteers from inside the fed. They are based on the feuding, with the results chosen by the current creative team. The matches are all put together and posted as the completed show in the Results forum.
How are winners chosen?There is a <a href="http://www.411mania.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=11&Board=411FedFeudandRoleplayForum&Number=4413893&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1" target="_blank" class="link">pinned thread</a> in the Feuding forum with a list of rules and other things. Inside, there is a list of common judging criteria. Obviously, there are exceptions to all rules, and the decisions often go much deeper than that, but it's a good place to get an idea.
How do I get started?Add your bio to the bio thread at ECF.
In the meantime, it's a good idea to read current feuding, to both see what other characters are up to, and to gain a better idea of how the game is played. This is probably the easiest and quickest way to learn.
What do I do if I have a suggestion for a match, feud, etc?All you have to do is get in touch with a member of creative. We're open to suggestions from anyone, and will do our best to accommodate them all. Don't be afraid just because you're new! Once you're here, you're here, and your suggestions are as valid as anyone else's. And it's never ever out of place to make them.

Special note:
We are currently involved in a temporary merged fed setup with . While this takes place, feuding will alternate between both feds. Messages will be posted in both when feuding is taking place, so that no one is left unaware. You're definitely encouraged to check both feds out! ECF works on a slightly different style (cluster vs individual threads), and any questions or problems with that should also be directed to one of the creative members.
